Duhn Duhn. Duhn Duhn Duhn Duhn.
There’s something out there . . . in the water . . .
If you live in southern California, this is the news you are hearing these days. And that thing in the water? Giant squid. Scientists aren’t sure why, but the creatures have decided to swarm off the coast of San Diego this week. Yep. It’s like something out of a Steven Spielberg movie.
Hmm. Maybe I will take a beer break over surfing lessons this weekend . . .
And I know just the beer to do it with. I'll pass my sunny Saturday afternoon with a bottle of Shark Attack Double Red from Pizza Port instead. This is a hopped up American amber ale -- but the hops don’t completely overwhelm. The malty and fruity flavors are allowed to do their thing. Still, the hops -- like the squid off the coast -- will let you know who's boss.
And that’s about as dangerously as I like to live.

Want this beer? Come to San Diego. Or cross your fingers that your local bottle shop has connections. This is a local restaurant microbrew that's slowly finding a larger market thanks to the bottling facility that opened in May of 2006. Check out the brewer's story.
