Tennis Whites and Good Beer
After an hour and a half of tennis under a hot afternoon sun, my friend and I were beat. In need of a pick-me-up, we naturally dragged our sweaty bodies to our favorite pub.
Is there such a thing as the perfect after-tennis beer? I was going to find out . . .
I ordered a draft of the St. Bernardus Witbier, and wasn’t disappointed.
Thirst-queching. Check. Lightly sweet. Check. Wheaty and citrusy. Check. My tennis partner even thought he tasted mild peach or melon notes. All in all, a highly refreshing white beer that is moderate on the alcohol, but offers plenty of flavor.
After two, I was ready to face the world again.
But not another round of tennis.

Seem More Beer Savvy |
Want this beer? St. Bernardus beers have pretty good distribution across the US in specialty bottle shops and upscale pubs. They have a few such places listed here.
