Garrrr . . . Drink Beer Like a Pirate!
Someone stole my summer.
It was here just a second ago, I swear. I was frolicking along, enjoying the sun, the long days, the trips to the beach, the relaxed schedule. But then I turned around for just one second, and when I turned back, it was gone. Could it be the work of pirates?
Okay, okay. Maybe I am just feeling highly suggestible after drinking some delicious Piraat ale from Brouwerij Van Steenberge.
This richly golden-hued, smoothly malted, lightly fruited, and mildly hopped beer is a strong one after all – 10.5 percent ABV. But it put a very nice exclamation point on the end of my summer over the Labor Day weekend as friends and I said goodbye to the season with a backyard barbecue.
And goodbye to the uncomfortable heat wave we’d been experiencing.
And goodbye to the summer crowds at our favorite beaches and pubs.
And . . . Hmm. Maybe those pirates did us a favor.
